B BAROOAH COLLEGE to host XI International Geographical Union Commission Seminar


The B.Barooh College, Guwahati, which is one of the renowned higher educational institute of the state with a glorious history and an enviable alumni, will host the 11th  International Geographical Union Commission Seminar cum 29th Biennial Conference of the NE India Geographical Society (NEIGS) from February 8 to 10, 2018.

The theme of the seminar is 'Environment and Sustainable Livelihood' and will be organised in collaboration with IGU Commission on Biogeography and Biodiversity, IGU Commission  on Land Use and Land Cover Change, IGU Commission  on Local and Regional development, IGU Commission  on Geography of Governance and IGU Commission on Geo-Heritage of Soil and water Assesment Tool.

Eminent personalities such as Professor Yukio Himiyama from Hokkaido University of Japan who is the President of IGU and Professor Elena dell' Agnese from University of Milano, who is the Vice President  of IGU are notable among the guests who will attend the conference. 

The organising committee is inviting research papers from academicians  and researchers from various disciplines under 21 sub-themes under environment and sustainable livelihood for oral and poster presentation before October 31.
